On Tuesday afternoon we were sent to Brand\u00fds nad Orlic\u00ed, where a strong wind caused the tree to fall to high voltage wires. Flying sparks caused a forest fire. The strong wind spread the flames very quickly over the dry forest environment. Eight units of firefighters gathered in place to fight the flames. A pumping station has been set up in the nearby Ole\u0161n\u00e1 for a shuttle to the place of fire. An area of about 1.5 hectares was hit by the fire. The damage was tentatively estimated at CZK 300,000.<\/p>\n

For another fire, our unit was sent after returning from fire in Brandys nad Orlici. This time it was a bush fire that occurred in Vraclav in the local part of St. Nicholas. After agreement with the operating center in Pardubice, the unit remained in reserve on the station.<\/p>\n
