During the handling of the gas boiler, on June 22, around nine o’clock in the morning, there was a gas leak in the boiler room and into the adjacent warehouse. During the initiation of electrical installations, the subsequently accumulated gas exploded and immediately began to burn in the area of the 1st underground floor. At the time of the explosion, there were an unknown number of people in the building. The administrator of the building reported the event to the Regional Operations and Information Center of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Pardubice Region, which immediately sends fire protection units in the first stage of the fire alarm to the site.
The tactical exercise of IRS units begins
Upon arrival at the site, a survey of the building determines the number and condition of the injured and fire prevention measures are created. Reconnaissance groups are designated for fire fighting and search and evacuation of people. Together with the ambulance service, a place has been set up for the concentration and sorting of wounded persons, at a sufficient distance from the outbreak of the emergency. At the time of the explosion, there were 10 people inside the building with various degrees of injury, but they could not leave the area on their own. Firefighters conduct reconnaissance in breathing equipment and eliminate fires.
After the fire is extinguished, the place is forcibly ventilated. Gradually, wounds with various types of injuries are brought to the place of sorting.
The survey reveals an unstable ceiling and the impossibility of further survey. VZ calls the container in place to ensure the stability of the ceiling. The security group secures the unstable structure of the building. The intervention commander designates another search team to complete the search for the secured building. The intervention commander’s staff is established and a command-communications vehicle is called. Gradually, all injured persons are rescued, the sorting of persons is performed by the START method in cooperation with the ambulance service. We help with the treatment and transport of the injured to the hospital (fictitious). At the same time, a group for static securing of a damaged building from Pardubice is called to the site. The final survey was conducted by a dog with special training to search for people from the rubble.
