On Sunday afternoon we went to work with the police and pyrotechnics. The reason was the finding of a larger amount of ammunition from World War II, which lay underground in a forest near the village of Týnišťko. The find was made by historical searchers who discovered ammunition instead of coins. The dangerous discovery was immediately reported on line 158. The operations officer sent all available patrols to the scene. They secured the area against the entry of unauthorized persons and called police pyrotechnics. Police officers from the Pyrotechnic Branch Brno, with the help of firefighters who pruned trees and roots, found in several layers on an area of 2×2 meters at a depth of 1.5 meters a total of 338 pieces of artillery mines shattering 82 mm, from World War II. Due to the large amount of ammunition, the pyrotechnicians had to request the arrival of a truck, which, under increased security measures, transported the dangerous cargo for disposal to a permanent blasting pit in Stráž pod Ralskem. The whole intervention lasted more than seven hours. Our unit mainly illuminated the scene. We intervened on the spot together with the HZS unit from the Vysoké Mýto station and the corporate unit from Iveco Czech Republic, a.s.
