On Friday, November 13, we went to leak about 400 liters of isocyanide (a dangerous volatile and corrosive substance that endangers human health) to one of the companies in the local part called Dvořisko. The substance leaked into a sump under the hopper. The whole intervention took place in breathing technique. Furthermore, the intervening firefighters were equipped with special disposable microchem suits. The oxidant was backfilled with sorbent. Subsequently, a slurry formed from the leaked substance and the sorbent, which subsequently hardened. Afterwards, the firefighters had to literally break the hardened crust that had formed. After the intervention, all intervening firefighters had to go through a decontamination zone and a shower. Four fire brigades intervened on the spot. The whole operation was completed shortly before eight o’clock in the evening.
