On Tuesday afternoon we were sent to Brandýs nad Orlicí, where a strong wind caused the tree to fall to high voltage wires. Flying sparks caused a forest fire. The strong wind spread the flames very quickly over the dry forest environment. Eight units of firefighters gathered in place to fight the flames. A pumping station has been set up in the nearby Olešná for a shuttle to the place of fire. An area of about 1.5 hectares was hit by the fire. The damage was tentatively estimated at CZK 300,000.
For another fire, our unit was sent after returning from fire in Brandys nad Orlici. This time it was a bush fire that occurred in Vraclav in the local part of St. Nicholas. After agreement with the operating center in Pardubice, the unit remained in reserve on the station.
